This House Gets Lonesome

This house gets lonesome
All day long, nighttime too
Locked up doors and blue windows

This house gets lonesome and I do too

Ghosts in the walls
Wouldn’t walk through the halls
If they knew you were coming ‘round

They don’t treat me right
Scare me every night
Each time I hear that mournful sound

Sheets on the bed
Cover up my head
Never let me say one single word
Pillows on the side
Like a nightmare ride
Into all the rumors that I’ve heard

Wish I only knew
What you say is true
Then I wouldn’t listen to your lies
Every single day
In every single way
You keep putting teardrops in my eyes
